3 Fast Ways for Consultants to Get More Twitter Followers

Are you a Twitter user desperate to learn how to get free Twitter followers? If this is you, then you’ve probably already seen all the software out there that makes big promises. It claims to teach you everything you need to know to learn how to get more Twitter followers.

The Truth:
The truth about such software, however, is that it simply doesn’t work. What’s even worse is that such software is almost always against Twitter’s terms of service. This means that if you’re caught – and you undoubtedly will be caught – you’ll likely lose your Twitter account!

Now, you’re left still wondering how to increase Twitter followers! What you need isn’t some hokey software or gimmick! Instead, you need a real, reliable way to increase your Twitter following, and I can provide you with just that!

I Was Just Like You:
Of course, I wasn’t always the Twitter expert I am today. In fact, I didn’t even start building my Twitter following until November of 2008. I have my friend, Deborah Carney, an outsourced program manager for to thank for that.

I interviewed Deborah, and she taught me how to use Twitter right! Since that day, I’ve never looked back. Twitter really boosted my brand and business, and I don’t know how I ever lived without it. I know the same will be true for you if you follow my strategies.

It really doesn’t even matter what you’re using Twitter for. Whether you’re promoting a joovy caboose tandem stroller, dental services, or bedroom furniture, these strategies can work for you!

Strategy 1: Syndicating an Online Newspaper
For strategy 1, you simply syndicate an online newspaper based on a particular Twitter list, user, or keyword. You then publish that paper to your Twitter account each day.

I know this strategy works, because I have a newspaper of my own! It’s called The Guest Blogging Daily, and I created it using, my Twitter account, and a Twitter list. You can view my paper here:

Obviously, enables you to create a beautiful and very readable paper, but it does more than just that. In fact, there’s not much it doesn’t do. The whole process is actually 100% automated.

The site pots to your Twitter as each daily newspaper is released, and it tweets to your following as well. It even tweets the contributing authors, and that is what really works for you!

Contributing authors will often see the tweet and start to follow you. What’s even better, however, is that they will usually retweet the newspaper. This means their followers often become your followers as well!

This strategy is such an easy way to gain more followers quickly. I definitely encourage you to choose an interesting topic and start using today. It’s worked – and continues to work –for me, so I know it can work for you.

Strategy 2: Be a Content Contributor
A lot of commonly visited sites, including this one, are always open to receiving guest writers. These writers, commonly referred to as “guest bloggers” gain tons of exposure and, if they’re smart, more Twitter followers. That’s why I strongly encourage you to become a guest writer!

In order to be an effective guest writer, you’ll have to provide useful information and helpful advice to your readers. It’s also best if you’re willing to go that extra mile and respond to their comments and questions in a timely manner.

That way, when you include an invitation to follow you on Twitter in your author bio, readers will be much more likely to accept. Of course, you don’t have to take my word for it. Follow my tips and start guest writing today!

Strategy 3: Put Your Thank You Page to Work for You
Finally, let me share with you my easiest and most useful strategy for gaining Twitter followers. The idea is so simple I’m ashamed to say I didn’t come up with it myself. I actually have my very wise friend, Joshua Sloan, the former Director of Online Marketing for the world’s largest and fastest growing hosting company, 1&1 Hosting, to thank for sharing it with me.

All you have to do is set it up so that visitors who take the time to fill out your option form – often to sign up for a mailing list or newsletter – are automatically sent to a “thank you page.”

You then use this page to include an invitation to follow you on Twitter. Since these visitors have already given you their contact information, they are extremely likely to sign up for your Twitter if you only go that extra step and ask them.

Get Started:
Now that you know my three fail-proof strategies, I urge you to get out there and start using them. The sooner you do, the sooner you can start seeing results. Remember, these strategies are useful no matter who you are or what you’re promoting. They’ve worked for promoters of reclining lift chairs, dental services, bumbleride indie twin strollers, and everything in between, so no excuses!

  1. I am a horrible marketer and had a very hard time selling my product online. I hired a group of small business consultants who specialized in marketing that helped me turn my entire business around. I just want to thank all of the dedicated small business consultants and let you know that I have been trying to follow you the best I can.

  2. Great tips for Twitter. Looks like I may need to tweak a couple things I’m doing 🙂

  3. I had not yet heard of, what an awesome tool! I just created mine

The thank you page is a great place to communicate & connect because they have to take action to ever see them so they are already hooked. This is one part of my website that I know I need to work on.

  4. Great piece and is VERY neat. I still wonder about the question of quality vs quantity. I often tell clients and seminar participants that social media/networking isn’t about who has the most followers but about how many of your followers you actually interact with. Either way, I’m sure at least some level of name recognition is happening. Thanks. 🙂
