You start a project, something comes up and it never gets finished.
You have a great idea for a marketing campaign. Your mind gets all excited by the possibilities and how much money it’s going to make you. But you fail to launch it.
I’m guessing you’re nodding your head in agreement. This likely sounds familiar. We’ve all experienced this in one form or another.
Ask Yourself This
The question you need to ask yourself right NOW is does this still happen to you. If it does you have two choices:
a) You can continue on with the hit and miss approach. If it works out, great. If it doesn’t, well that just sucks.
b) Do something about it.
If you’ve chosen the first path nothing I say here will help you. However, if you want to do something about it the good news is you can.
You Can’t Hide
The first thing you need to know is that challenges always appear. Ideas in your mind always seem easier to carry out than they actually will be.
And this is a big problem. Because in your mind you set yourself up for victory. Yet when you get the thoughts out of your head and start to put them into the real world…all of a sudden people are trampling over them or even worse, nobody seems to know you exist or care. The challenges are infinite.
What happens next? The brain then kicks into reactionary mode. It looks for an easy way out. It quickly figures out that what you’ve done is a mistake and it finds ‘an even better’ idea for you.
Unfortunately, that new idea is just the same as the one before. It’s an idea. But the mind won’t tell you that….and the cycle begins.
This is how many a business person have spent years chasing their tales.
I don’t want you to do that.
Next time. When you’re confronted with a challenge keep this information in mind.
Don’t give up.
Know that there will always be a challenge.
If you really believe in your idea don’t let a minor defeat or setback hold YOU back from turning your idea into a reality.
(If your idea just plain sucks nothing can really help you. If the market tells you they really don’t want what you have to offer – take that as a lesson and apply it to your next step toward success).
Go, Go, Go…
Go on. Get your shield out. Sharpen your armour. Business is a battle. If you’re not prepared to fight (to turn your idea into reality) don’t enter the ring.
You can do it! I believe you can. Fight the good fight. YOU really can make it happen.
