One of my coaching clients Sasha sent me a gift of materials from Darren Hardy.
If you’re not familiar with Darren, he’s the publisher of SUCCESS magazine and a very successful entrepreneur and speaker himself.
The package included Hardy’s most recent book, The Compound Effect (published by Vanguard Press).
It is a small book, coming in at about 160 pages. Do not let its size fool you.
This is a powerful book.
In essence, you make your choices, and then your choices make you. Every decision, no matter how slight, alters the trajectory of your life…”
For many, it may be life changing.
Yes, this is a personal development book. You may find it in the self-help section at your local bookstore, but you could just as likely find it in the business section.
In the Compound Effect Darren Hardy lays out a clear path and shows you how to take any goal you want to reach…whether that be losing weight, eating healthier, earning more, etc…and create a program that will actually allow you to reach it.
The book doesn’t promise overnight success.
The BIG Idea Is Small
The core idea behind it is that we all need to build rhythm and habits that allow us to make small and consistent steps…and these move us closer and closer to our goals.
While most people these days talk about BIG changes they need to make in their lives, more often than not, they fail. Not because they don’t have good intentions, but because they approach change the wrong way. They try to be the rabbit instead of the tortoise. Their actions are unsustainable.
The actions and steps Hardy recommends we all take can change your life. Their power is in their consistency…and over time what you put in starts to compound and your results begin to multiple.
Not only does this book show you how to achieve your goals, it teaches you how to overcome your fears, rid your life of bad habits and so much more.
