How Did Scott Post Replace His Corporate Income with Five-Figure Fees?

Thanks to Consulting Success, Scott Post was able to rebuild a livable income from his consulting business after leaving a lucrative career in the corporate world.

Income Concerns

Scott Post’s consulting business focuses on guiding client companies in the Siouxland area through process improvement. He helps clients with workforce productivity and profitability problems. However, when Scott Post first left the corporate world and his comfortable career to create his own consulting business, his biggest concern was whether or not he would be able to create a livable income comparable to what he used to make.

Scott has plenty of experience with process improvement, and a lot of expertise to offer his clients. However, as he put it, “I didn't know if I could sell myself and run a consulting business.”

Gaining Confidence and Community

He first began learning from Consulting Success through our podcast, but when he needed more customized help building his consulting business, he finally joined the program. Creating a Livable Income

At the time of this writing, Scott has been a full-time consultant for one year. A year ago, he was worried that he might not be able to stick with it. He didn’t know if he could create a livable income or grow the business on his own. But now, a year later, he says, “It’s going very well, and the future looks even better. I don’t think I could have done it without Consulting Success. It certainly would have been a lot more painful.”

He is currently working with five clients, with contracts that range up to five figures, and he recently had a satisfied customer bump a six-month engagement into his first six-month engagement. As Scott put it, “It was a 7X kind of day…I’m exhilarated and excited, because the client/consultant relationship is a perfect fit and I can easily make a significant impact for him and his organization!” He is finally making an income that is comparable to his corporate career, while living and working on his own terms.
